Here`s a quick rundown and review of the Banana backpackers hostel located near the Insadong neighborhood of Seoul. I was going to be staying in Seoul for several months and one of the things I really wanted was to make certain I had a good place to rest whenever I needed it.
Banana Backpackers appears to have been a house that was converted to a hostel. It consisted of four floors; the basement, the main floor, the second floor and the roof. Continue reading

I’ve been trying to finish up several post about my summer spent in Asia. Part of that process has been sorting through the pictures and formatting them prior to putting them up on the site. It made me realize just how many more things I’d like to post about before I can really finish up writing about the trip. I think there are a few funny stories left, lots of great pictures and maybe a few post containing useful information for the next soul wandering through the alleys.
I was only in Busan for 4 or 5 days if my memory serves me well. It’s funny how timing and coincidence acting together can make things happen. While in Busan I had stumbled upon a cozy little coffee shop by pure chance. I went down an alley looking for more graffiti but I was soon pushed into this great coffee shop, Coffee Dasrim. After talking to the owner for a bit she recommended another area where I could go look for some local graffiti. Continue reading
Another four pieces of Montreal.
Here are three pieces taken from various parts of Montreal over the last few weeks. The first piece has most likely been up/around for a while. I snapped the picture because I liked the vibe it gave off. Now I regret not having taken the time to get it at a proper angle:
Second piece is one by Oser. I’ve see his name around town now and again. This was one of the nicest ones I’ve personally seen from him:
I had a discussion on the subject of whether or not these artist would want to have their work on the internet. Despite all the arguments at the end of it all these pieces will not last forever, if very long at all. At some point another other artist, punk or random citizen is going to write over his or her piece.
It never stops and that’s one of the things I really like about this medium. It’s alive. The next time I see Oser’s piece people will have written over it. Changing the piece. Sometimes the pieces morph and merge into these really creative & collective works. Other times it’s a simple “you suck” written across it.
That’s one of the reasons I take the time to snap pictures of them. I may not be able to revisit one particular neighborhood for months but when I do I get to compare the pieces.
Isn’t that what all pictures are in the end are trying to do? To capture a moment in time so that we somehow remember it as it was?

In an project to be more productive, I present to you a few pieces of Montreal.
Just like the post title indicates In an project to be more productive, I present to you a few pieces of Montreal.
It started off like It always does on foot. I don’t remember exactly where I saw the sticker you see to the right. I just remember catching it out of the corner of my eye as I walked by. The words registered a half step later as a smile appeared on my face. I turned around to take a picture; It was just too good to pass up. A few individuals on the sidewalk looked at me strangely wondering what it was exactly that I was taking a picture of. Continue reading
